I wasn't saying his problem never happened, just relating my experiences. I know some terminals tend to have different degrees of how they want them. that's not right.

Ummmm...I would say he's going to be in the negative but that's just from my experience with lawyers.

I turned a truck in at Columbus and after the first check was told I would be charged $110.00 for cleanout because it wasnt good enough. After awhile of trying to get it cleaner I said forget it. I decided to just pay it. When I went in to get the guy who was checking me out I found out he had gone to lunch. Somebody else took over. They looked inside the truck....pronounced it "pretty clean" and signed me out.

For one year exp..i don't think too many people will notice your gone...what makes you an expert to judge ALL drivers in this industry since you're a rookie?...then you call truckers stupid?..if were all stupid, why would you want to come work around those kind of people??...but the truth is, the majority of us drivers are hard working respectable people who really dont care to be blanket labeled as stupid people..truckinmike1984 Thanks this.

Well I am glad that I read this post: I feel your pain, disappointment and anger Rubber Duckie. Now back to why I am glad I read this post; Because I have added a few more "Questions to ask the Recruiter" to my post of the same title after reading this OP's post and the replies of others. I am currently sniffing around for that "perfect company"
to drive for and perhaps by asking the most perfect questions to the Recruiter, Safety and Admin/Payroll of this perfect future Company, I can be saved from having to undergo any similar experience (of being docked truck cleaning expense) from my future perfect trucking company upon my departure for whatever reason(s). Thanks all,

Nice bait and switch tactic Astoh! Rubber Duckie should take note because this simple lesson is very important. The Driver seizing the opportunity of pulling a "player move" such as this over on the person giving him a hard way to go... I have been forced "to make such a move myself" with different companies who were intentionally trying to trigger a negative response from me. Also, the positive relationships that you build with other non-driver employees (especially the mechanics and payroll personnel) of the company is crucial. Not everyone is against you at any Company. Many non-driver personnel understand the issues we truckers have, and will sometimes go out of their way to try to help you whether you or resigning or being terminated. Often just keeping your mouth/thoughts shut or silent will bring you more answers and understanding than barking out loud! But I do wish you luck (OP)in your future endeavors; aim highAstoh Thanks this.

Turned in my truck today...got an OK so no cleaning charges

I only traded trucks once in 2 years at Crete . I traded in at new Kingstown and I just removed my trash and belongings then used air nozzle, sprayed that cleaner stuff all over and then just air dried it. Got the ok for nocleaning fee.
When I turned my truck in at council bluffs.. my terminal manager asked if it was clean.. I said yup and she signed off for me and drove me to the bus station. I really liked council bluffs -
The shops used to give out those bottles of green spray cleaning solutions. Those were great.Dark_Majesty_06 Thanks this.
