Keep in mind too.............
A Lot of these Drivers Think they're not "Allowed" to work on a Their Truck.
So True.......I've spoken to many guys on the street, and they say things like "Oh no, I can't do that,Only a Certified mechanic can fix that"
These are the Guys that Lease their Trucks on to mega-carriers or medium carriers that have their own shops do their annual and quarterlies For Them!!!!!... That's Crazy! Talk about "finding" something
Believe it or not Spyder- These so called "Owner-ops" Don't Want to get Dirty and are "Scared": to learn to repair their trucks-
All they want to do is Drive-Nothing Else.
U joint issue?

How boring.
It seems that I have always had some project that I wanted to do to the truck. It makes driving it more rewarding.SAR, stayinback and spyder7723 Thank this. -
The reason carriers require guys to use their inspectors for annuals is because of the operator you just described. you cant trust those guys to keep up on there equipment. Even if they wanted to, they dont have enough knowledge to see something that needs repaired. Most guys don't even know how to adjust their brakes.stayinback and Oxbow Thank this.

I do it in between oil change, but this truck came damaged-due to wear and tear probably, original drive shaft , original engine 1998….the chassis is new, the rest is the rest …
I have another truck, and put myself over 1 million miles , and did maybe 2 joints . I was. Shocked about this diagnosis result , I was not prepared properly for this kinda results
I also have a mecanic that I use regularly, and he knows my truck, and I never refuse to fix stuff he finds that are bad. He was surprised by the estimate invoice when he read it, he was like : What is that? Who did this? …
I’ve replaced a clutch with him 5 months ago, changed everything , seal , fork , bushing , shaft clutch 2250 easy pedal , you name it , no word on the drive shaft , or bad joints…
And then I go for an allignment , and these people remove all my drive shaft & call me with $5,700 bill.
I’m like wtf are you talking dude ??? Well if you come by we can show you , can you came by, are you close??Last edited: Dec 29, 2023

the shop said: somebody installed the joint the wrong way here that’s why you have this ! That’s the one that connects with the transmission. I don’t know who, but I did complained about vibration after my mecanic had the truck in his shop. You wouldn’t feel any movement on that joint: pull or push.. nothing, it was tight as a good one, except that the caps are shiny …Last edited: Dec 29, 2023
