U.S Xpress lies to student drivers

KeepOnTrucking81, what CDL school did you go to ? I went to Wolf in Schaumburg.

 

Love the donuts at Webers Bakery on Archer. Wife & I go there when we're in town. We work for USX & live in Schaumburg. When we get back home...its usually in the middle of the night...on the way home, we stop at El Faro's in Summit for a burrito.

Wolf is expensive but the instructors were good.

All these companies play games with recent CDL grads. USX pays $59 a day for orientation & training. These recruiters are idiots. Learn about all these companies thru this website then make your decision.

 

Wife and I work for USX. Knowing what I know now....I would recommend Schneider tanker.

 

I have been with USX for 9 months now. It's not too bad, they have a few good dedicated runs for teams 5500+ miles a week, 6 weeks out 1 week off. Pay isn't the best out there but we get treated ok and never have any pay problems. Get home on time 95% of the time. Some weeks are great and some not so much. It's a job and I have a few bucks saved up and nice stuff at home that's paid for. All in all I can't really complain but CR England.... Whole different story.

 

Can only disagree with one of your statements. Don't know of any other companies (I'm sure they're out there) that pay on the Hub, but I know for a fact that Watkins Shepard out of MT pays all Hub miles. Trip envelope ends at 650,001, next trip envelope begins at 650,001. Even if you take a 34, bobtail to do laundry, shopping or even catch a movie, all those miles go on your next envelope, they don't get on you for going out of route either (at least when I was there last year), so long as you get the load there on time. Good people to work for, equipment is a bit old (I had an 07 Freightshaker) and their shops can sometimes suck, but overall a decent company. Not to mention, driver lounge on the same floor as recruiters office, heck my room was right next door to recruiters office, open door policy with all upper management. Recruiter told me exactly what they offer and I cannot think of one lie I was told by recruiter. There are decent companies out there for sure and a lot of bottom feeders..... Just my $0.02

 

I didn't really have too much of a problem with USX. Id still be there if they had coughed up a couple extra CPM. But I was a trainer.

 

Gotta take some good with the bad. I'm pretty sure all these recruiters lie. But rly, you're lucky because usx is one of the better companies to start with.
