you know it does not matter who you work for anymore,no matter what company it is there are bad reports on every major company and the smaller ones as well, this is becoming the way of trucking:biggrin_2555: i have sat for days, and ran as much as 2900 a week it comes and goes thats the bottom line
these companys treat everyone like cr#p, but really what can you do once driving gets in your blood its hard to work 9to5 we all feel this way i believe:biggrin_25525:
thats why we get so upset at the companys
there in it for the money and so are we my 2cents worth

Most companies lay off people or don't hire new ones when times are bad. But then what does it cost to have a driver paid by the mile sitting at a truck stop rather then on their couch getting unenjoyment.

When I started driving a driver making less then 2500 miles a week was rare and considered being lazy. Now you have companies actually advertising 2200 and many are not even getting that. Whats the point of being on the road 7 days a week to make what you can make schlepping burgers or greeting people at Walmart?

If the company is worth it to drive for they will make sure that their business model keeps the drivers miles consistent, Less freight should mean a combination of less trucks and less office staff. Not just hoping that drivers will quit if you sit them long enough.

They suck bigtime. If and when the economy picks up and the need for drivers is critical, I hope no one even considers this company.

If new drivers are flocking to them now, just imagine what will happen when these companies start advertising big time again.

If a trucking company has it's doors open, people are going to line up wanting to work there.

If anyone would take the advice on these blogs not to work somplace then this is it. US Express is not the place to be working at. The Mgmt is very poor, and their dispatching is even worse, run for the hills when you hear this company is loking for drivers, " lets get the word out" USX is NO GOOD!

People could preach on here 24/7 365 the majority of people will still go work there because they are hard up for a job. Then they dont realize what they are getting into and have to learn the hard way. Oh well. guess thats just how it has to be.

With the trouble some are having finding one, you are obviously working thus far.
Even I, with my utter disdain for even the very MENTION of things automatic, and despicable contempt for all things refrigerative, had considered the possibility of applying there once.

lmao, my bf has been working for USX for 7 months. loads are poor, trucks are poor, and dispatch is a whole forum in itself, lol. he is wanting to go trainer by this summer. he called yesterday about dedicated or local runs. the only available slot was gone two weeks and home two days. no wonder its an open slot. he can do that now and he is OTR.

I just came from USX and boy did they change. I drove for them from 1999-2001. Back then they were respectful and grateful toward their drivers. Well now they don't care how long you sit at a terminal waiting for a truck or maintenance or a co driver. And if you sit at home like I was they end terminating your employment and anyone in the company can do this. To get hire back you have go meet with a terminal manager and beg well I beg with my record I can get a driving job even in this bad economy. BTW DON'T LEASE A TRUCK FROM USX. If you do you will never own it after one year you can lease another trk or get a loan from a bank to buy it.

It's not just the ones who hard up for a job , but the ones who put in a few apps down at the school and sign on with the first one that bites, without checking them out first.

All a newbie would have to do, is to do the research on the company's they might want to work for, and find out what qualifications they need to work there. Before they go to school ,versus after, they are 4k in debt and need a job asap.
