Ya, they don't want the headache of their own authority. they just wanna push a button and make their percentage.

A minute long story in the news is equivalent to 25 mins coverage in dog years.

Sounds like the freight I moved for Vesuvius USA. They wanted their freight moved to their customers but refused to have the liability with their name on the truck.

Uber driver rates are already horrible. I tried uber for the 1st time a few days ago, was 12.15$ to get about 5 miles from a dropyard to the airport. Talked to the lady about what she made and her answer was "around 100$ a day". But she said that was before fuel, but she had great mileage in her CRV.

We run a lot of brokered freight actually. The difference is it's not actually a true broker load, it's a huge tanker outfit that "brokers" out the specialized stuff to companies who have the equipment.
Since I'll never see tanker freight on the Uber board,i won't have to worry about it. -
See the problem people with Uber have is they are allowed to drive when and where they want. They don't have set schedules or anything. They get too keep about 80% of each fare and there is a set minimum for each fare. I believe it's $5. So if she's only making $100 a night then she's in a bad area, or she's not taking many fares

I hope this crap stops. First UShip is acting as a broker and doesn't have to abide by the regulations that brokers abide by and now Uber and Amazon both are getting into the game. Maybe we need to start complaining to the US DOT and congress about this to get them to include these companies - especially UShip to put up a bond and follow the brokerage regulations.

I had to take it once, and I paid almost taxi rates but it didn't matter. However the thing the driver said to me was he was clearing $240 a day on average (he was driving a prius) so I assume that he was making well over this.

I got a cousin who's girlfriend drives an Uber in Columbus Ohio 5 days a week for 3 hours in the am, and then for another 6 after class. He said she clears around $350 a day after fuel, and the figures about 10cpm for maintainance. Her riders are mostly college kids who can't afford housing close to campus. So they usually get 4 of then together and share a ride in. She drops then off and good back and gets another load.
