I'd call the shipper and ask if the load can be brought back. The receiver is probably paying the freight costs, and you're there on time and they refuse the load? What a bunch of BS. You're pretty much screwed for your next load. This is my main complaint with Uber. Their customer service reps don't have a clue what to do when there is a problem. I've had several similar problems come up with Convoy, and they always get things dealt with quickly. Uber is a joke, and they've ripped me off for many hours of detention. Last December I waited 12 hours to get unloaded in Phoenix on an Uber load, turned in the detention paperwork minutes after I submitted the POD, and they claimed that they never got it, so I lost out on a few hundred bucks and lost my next load. I showed them the time stamped receipt when I transmitted the detention to them, and they ignored it and refused my detention request. That was the last load I hauled for them.

It's called a "Steep Learning Curve" or "Tuition" or "Experience". Use this as a "learning moment" for the future.

I took it back to the shipper DONE with this load and UBER and will never mess with Uber or Convoy. These are not tech companies they are bloodsuckers of the worst kind. I feel sorry for morons who drive a taxi for Uber how stupid are they not to realize they are losing money driving for Uber... I will never get it.

Most Uber ride share drivers don't have a clue how much money they're losing. All they look at is how much they bring in gross against how much they spent on gas for their car. The cost of maintenance, wear and tear and depreciation on their cars doesn't even enter into the equation. I read a story a few months ago about a man who drove for Uber full time in the SF bay area. He worked 11 to 14 hours a day and drove well over 100,000 miles per year for an average annual income of $50k in one of the most expensive places to live in the US. Now his primary vehicle is falling apart, he can't afford repairs or to buy a new car. He's basically screwed, just like anybody else who believes they can make a living driving for Uber. This is the same mentality that many owner ops have coming into the trucking business.

Uber your supposed to call 90 minutes in and let them know detention is coming, and have your time stamps. Convoy never have a problem with getting detention or layover long as you've had their app running the whole time

Uber is a "last resort option" when I am booking freight for my trucks. I would take a cheaper load with a reputable broker first (Uber is usually the cheapest of the cheap though). I think TQL is a better option than Uber.
