Only 30cnts/mile..I paid my drivers 28cnts/mile back in 1987..If drivers would refuse to work for low paying companies they would go out of business,,don't have to worry about loosing trucking jobs to Pakistan or Mexican drivers,,got too many good old Americans willing to work for nothing

Is ABF under the Central States pension fund? If so, the Google "Central States pension fund news" and then you may not have a problem leaving ABF. Teamsters pension under Central States is going bankrupt.
Just snag a good OTR job and see the country. There's some pretty good outfits that hire 21 yr. old drivers. As soon as you're 23 most every company will hire you; by then you'll be 23 with 2 yrs. experience. Don't get hung up with milage pay; look at the whole picture including accessorial pays.

I think Henderson jacked their pay up to .38 cpm now and has guaranteed minimum weekly milage.

Thanks for the info and yes, ABF is Central States.

There is definitely a lot to consider and I appreciate the help of everyone here!

While it's not ideal to work for a mega, Sni does pay (from my understanding) a decent amount for otr. Pretty sure they are hiring out your way.

...since you've got the experience, I say pound some pavement and ask other drivers at a local TS. If you were new to the game then I'd go ahead and suggest Sni. Sni isn't bad to work for, but the countless regulations and rules they impose can drive a guy nuts.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding and please forgive me if I am.
I'm no expert on the union stuff but Central States is the pension fund and health plans that the Teamsters use at my current shop. At least that was my understanding from the materials I've gotten.

I guess I'm misunderstanding what you are getting at? ABF and CR England are vastly different companies.
