Key words-"Around here." I'm sure that happens, and it very well could be, and probably is a truck driver. It's also pretty likely that it's the same guy or guys every time, and they're not an accurate representation of your average truck driver.
Think about the hundreds, if not thousands of truckers that you pass every day. Maybe one in a hundred of those guys, and probably not even that, try to disrupt a conversation with that garbage, and I'd bet it's less than three in a hundred that do any kind of provocation on the air.
Now think about the local cb enthusiasts-there very graciously might be fifty within range on any given day. If even a "very few" of them cause problems, then a significantly higher percentage of them are causing problems. That's all I'm trying to say.
UH OH! They DO..........!

Where I live we got a local ham guy that gets on the CB and starts fights with truckers daily. Way more annoying than any noise toy ive ever heard. Thing is, I hear hams doing this crap all over the place. They think because they mailed in a test that took them 20 minutes to study for and paid $5 for a license its make their #### non stinky lol.
-
Im wondering why they dont give the scale-houses the authority to confiscate export radios and linear amplifiers LOL
-
How do you know these people are ham radio operators?
-
I think they technically do, WA4GCH has posted the link before, I think local law enforcement was given the authority under the Clinton administration. They probably don't mess with it because it would take up more of their time than it was worth, and it isn't (usually) a safety issue.
-
Because their radios sound so good?
-
i think a cb is a tool and should b respected as a privlivge not a neccisity 4 just keyin up cause u have to hear urself talk 4give the spellin just my opinion

Yes how do you know ?
BTW ...
President Bill Clinton has signed legislation that permits the enforcement
of certain FCC Citizens Band regulations by state and local governments.
Amateur Radio operators are exempt from the provisions of the law, now PL 106-521. -
You're joking right? That's all they talk about! They talk about how THEY have the license, how we truckers are doing everything wrong, were all illegal. The way they go on about it, you'd think they hold doctorates in that bs.Longshot34 and josh.c Thank this.
