Also, the current carrier I pull for allows me to see ANY freight bill for ANYTHING I've pulled.
Only catch is that I have to go to their home office to see it. Perfectly legal.
But what happens if I go there only to find out that it was booked from CHR and if I wish to see the original bill I have to go to their home office (Jacksonville fl?).
Anyway, one way or another, they make it impossible to do

Well I know Nancy Reagan told everyone, "Just say no."

    How's that worked out?

They are addressing that part of it. It is going to be that within 48 hours of completing the load they will send to you directly what the payments are.

    How will they enforce it?

If they do not give you the information you report them.

    It's a monumental undertaking.

In the last 3 days I've stood behind several of our colleagues that basically just grunt as a form of communication.

They all took about 10 minutes to get the lady to turn a fuel pump on due to difficult questions like....What is the name of your company?

So might hat is off to whomever solves the riddle.

Honestly, I think it's just an overreaction to a freight market that has had about 30% pulled out of it combined with the drop in fuel prices (FSC).
I don't recall anyone whining when the reefer boys were doing $4 a mile 18 months ago.

    Supply and demand, people.

On the under bidding. Dave's transparency works. If load is 3400, broker gets 15% of the load, and must divulge to shipper paid price. He can't scoop up the difference. So broker's not going to want 3200 for that 3400 load. Else he'll make less. In fact it might have some raise freight prices.

BUUUUITTTT, as has been said. You volume brokers could try to under cut the small broker. But that's the same as carriers under cutting O/o.
