I can relate. The main street near-by is posted, however, there are numerous warehouses, nurserys, rock quarrys, a post office and other truck related businesses, up and down. With no alternates either. The top end intersects with the I-15, the bottom end intersects with SR 78.

So good I had to requote that. Here in jax's, there is nothing but undercover cop cars now. I see uniform cop cars less often then under cover cars. But let's be real, that have some ###### undercover cars.

Me? I would get with the other trucking companies and find a place 5 feet outside the city limits OR the county and move. Now, 1 week before the movers show up go to the commissioners and show them the new address and all of your applications AND your tax receipts you've paid or have to pay for this year and tell them to kiss those taxes goodby!
This just might give them a choice as to keep fining the trucks or drop the matter of stealing money from taxpayers and void any tickets you got and then chew out the officer who grew a pair that's just too big for his britches for the lack of blood to his thinking brain! I'm sure not to many communities can afford to lose tax paying residents or companies in Mi!

BUT, I'll guarantee when you go to your new county or city of residence and show them the reason why you're moving there they'll be sure that wherever you call your new address will not get "readjusted" to what you just went through!

Heck even companies can't afford those kind of zeros on a ticket!
Some politician or city officer sees truck,
    thinks money,
    fines trucks,
    trucks leave,
oops loss of income for city when they used to work with company!
The tickets don't make up for the loss of taxes!
Maybe the unemployment and income numbers go up and down and neither is a good thing!

If word got out as in a letter to the editor and the paper or news group or even the letter writer researches who it was to change a road law and tax money leaves the community then some moron is going to get his arse fired or voted out of office in these hard times for not thinking something all the way through!
If I was the owners of these companies I would pull out all stops and find out who this moron is and do every thing possible to vote him/her out or get them fired for stupidity!

    TV is better than print!

It IS your right to fight gooberment idiocy! It's called hope and change!

Mt. Clemens, MI is a town north of Detroit that is full of working people. It is not a snooty area. Except City Council. You are not allowed to park a truck in any residential area, not even in your own driveway. So, we parked them around the corner in a business area. Not good enough. City said we couldn't park there either, even though we were following the letter of the law. They were going to tow one of the trucks and levy a hefty fine...for parking 150 yards outside the residential area. Couldn't make them happy! So, the trucks had to be parked in the next town over.

You're not even allowed to pitch a tent in the back yard so the kids can "camp" in the summertime. When I was coming up, it was almost a summertime ritual to "camp" in the yard. Mt. Clemens will write a ticket and confiscate the tent!

Pawtucket Bridge in RI has been fining truckers for about five years now. And this is I-95. Why hasn't it been repaired? They enjoy the $$$$ too much. Governments are allowed to manipulate and create laws to benefit themselves, even if it ain't right.

There was a small factory, I think that was in OH that I picked up. It had one way in and a small 65,000 bridge you had to cross. Beside it was the DOT sitting. Three of us sat there loaded until he left. WTF?
