Lol I hope not. I just hear everything is over saturated with trucks and drivers just wondering if there is any future for getting into an o/o position.

There are always customers out there struggling to cover multi pick/ multi drop loads. They pay pretty good too. It just sucks because each drop increases your chances of having a significant problem at pick/drop by 50%... Pair that with customers who tend to be hesitant to pay detention and you've got a recipe for losing a couple of days a month.

What are some of the more specialized freight? Bulk tank? Drop Deck? Probably some I have never heard of or seen?
-
I'd be looking for versatile more than I'd be looking for specialized. A slightly old but still decent vented van is probably the best yielding trailer money can buy if you don't mind hauling bulk potatoes in the winter and melons in the summer.
EDIT: Just to be clear this is absolutely the right way to be thinking about this. Most freight brokerages HATE produce. I LOVE produce. If you figure out how to adapt your business model there is riches in niches. -
Someone in my extended family is a reefer driver. He looooooves it...
All I hear him doing is meat & potatoes (west coast), occasional melons and milk in the east coast.
He just dropped a fat load of meat in Seattle this evening -
why?
