I'm curious as to which company is doing this to you?
Because they could easily route you closer to home.

Some companies are irrational, don't be afraid to tell them what you think, they are not God!

OMG, you have a responsibility to return the equipment, I assume they will pay you for the work, so just do it.

This is the reason you dont give notice to a mega. Time and again after they recieve notice, they will have you take the truck to one of their terminals a thousand miles from your home.

ok, as a matter of fact, many companies, NOT just trucking, when you give notice, they pretty much fire you right on the spot, as they know you have no interest in working for them. i call ANY company in ANY industry a skank company for doing so.

so like i had said in a few other threads about giving a 2 week notice?

    I NEVER GAVE ANY NOTICE.

and for at least, this very reason, not to be left high and dry, a zillion miles from home.

good luck to you, let us know how you make out.

Many companies were on the edge of failure themselves in my experience.

If I choose to believe that after I quit they implode and fail then go out of business entirely I should be so full of myself. But I am not. I usually quit for cause at a moment's notice in trucking. Rarely do I stay for years in trucking which itself is really a epic statement of itself.

You didn’t read what I said.
I have no issue returning the truck. I have an issue with them being ######## and sending me as far away from home as possible.

the main terminal is in Ohio

    Oh Ohio.

    Kewl.

The main thing with all who are thinking of being truckers, you must retain enough money in a pocket constantly to go home in which way but loose from anywhere in North America at a moments notice on your own. Job Security and careers it is not.

    rachi and tscottme Thank this.
