Nice share. There's some good topics to look up and understand. The video is a bit old butI'm sure I'll find some others that deal with the same issues. Thanks.

I meant to say to chock the front of the back axle wheel. I just thought that was assumed. Thanks for clarifying. Things can get lost in translation.

Regarding the 6 and 7 order, I would answer the call but keep focused on the four most important points: chock, gear, lines, pin. Always do a post inspection to check before pulling away. Still taking suggestions on this one.

The links are great. Thanks. Good info. Learning a lot from everyone.

Pull forward THEN hit the button to drop bags. Got it. Makes more sense.
I'm going to ask the forum a question about sliding tandems later, but the advice about hugging the truck and not worrying about drivers freaking out is good. Thanks.

Great. Thanks for the advice. Makes sense. Reinflate. 1/2" on the gear sounds right. Don't want the trailer dropping too hard on the gear. Could also put undo weight slamming down on the cargo possibly causing damage.

Lots of good information here. @gekko1323 mentioned a 1/2" being enough. I'm thinking if the landing gear pads are too far off the ground the trailer might fall too far when pulling away BUT, as you have explained, when the suspension is lowered, the trailer nose and king pin, should not rise in order to avoid a high hook.

    Two questions:
    1. How low does the tractor/5th wheel go after lowering suspension? 1/2"? 2"?

    2. Should the tractor pull forward until the front of the trailer clears the 5th wheel yet is still over the frame?

But if you see a chock sitting in front of the dock, wouldn't you just use it? Is there a reason you wouldn't?

Makes sense. Thanks. The landing gear/high hook debate grows more interesting.

    The CDL manual says...

Thanks for pointing out that the test doesn't reflect what really happens. I'm trying to find these differences.
