That is not an oily gunky mess.......it is a water and road salt repellant and defense system. Nothing beats rust like oil!:biggrin_2559:

I got our truck washed at a beacon by gallup new Mexico i believe it was. It was a loaner truck that no one else had taken care of. It was nasty so i started telling them what all i wanted done and it turned out they had a full wash that was around 180. Was sorta like a dealer detail wash. The full Monty so to speak. Did frame, under carriage, axles, engine an truck. Full wash wax and flashed the rims. Plus i got to stand in the bay and inspect everything. Anything i wanted redone they had to do it before i was satisfied and ready to pull out of the bay.

Cheap rain gear, clear shop face shield, truck on blocks, creeper, Hotsy cranked as hot as she will go, and I've gotten to become a fan of simple green, purple power, or other degreasers shot through the foam cannon.

Not fun days but well worth the effort a couple times a year.

Some Beacon do, some Beacon don't. It's not that much. Usually do 3 or 4 a year.

Danny's in Phoenix claim is dude actually gets under there and scrubs stuff off. Was never that impressed with there washes.

Good for PM and light mechanical though.
