    Yes because of the COVID-19 1099 are now being allowed to collect unemployment. Its discussed in another forum on here, I just don't know how to link it sorry.....

    EDIT: What I should've said was it depends on your state......

    Unemployment insurance is different than taxes. Just paying taxes doesn't mean you get unemployment. Paying unemployment insurance means you get unemployment. Next time demand to be paid legally so you don't have to worry about it.

    That said, the $600 a week the fed is giving will cover 1099's. In Michigan they are telling people to not file yet as they will announce what to do "in a few days". Of course they posted that last Monday....
    Best bet is go to your states unemployment website and see what they say to do.

    Drag your mouse across this sentance, it should come up highlighted.

    Then right click and select copy.

    Move mouse anywhere else and then pick paste.

    Or you can print off, page. Copy same.

    Walk anywhere in the building and paste with rubber cement in any old spot manually.

    Thats the idea of a 1099 employee. No one pays into the unemployment fund for you. Saves them $$. Also not paying into workers compensation either. Now mayby like its been stated, because of covid you may get something. Can't always have it both ways.
