Used to be a time when savings was asked. It didn't ask me this time and I haven't filed for almost 20 years.

Luckily I didn't have to collect this year.

No. I would just have had to explain it's money in my account and not a recurring income

Let me get this right, you was once self employed(O/O), you went out of business due to medical reasons. You kept your equipment, hid your savings and filed for unemployment benefits. I went out of business because of medical. Realized nine years was enough and decided to not go back otr. Fixing the truck this summer for a quick sale.

why shouldn’t I get to claim unemployment?
I never have but I think I might start. Last year I didn’t work November at all. And only 4 days in December. The farm I contract with had no loads for me so I stayed home.

sure I could have grabbed some crap paying load and kept money coming in. But since I pay all this money for unemployment benefits what the problem claiming them?

also what does my savings account have to do with claiming unemployment. Just because I have money in a saving or even a retirement account should have no bearing on the unemployment benefits that I pay for every two weeks!

Being out of work for 30 days you would have qualified in Maine for the later 3 weeks but not the first.

In Maine. The proof of bank statements was only to show Im not still getting getting payments from some where eles
