If as you said that was your only mistake the Union should back you up. As a onetime mistake can happen to anyone. However, when the Union signs a contract with a company there are always "fire able" mistakes listed. That could be one.

See the shop steward and get him on it. If you are correct, you will get back on and get back pay. Either way good luck and I am sorry to here you live in San Francisco. Any day now you are going to die in a horrible earthquake.

The wife wanted to move to San Francisco instead of Las Vegas. Cheapest house we could find was a million dollars and looked like something in the ghetto of Detroit; one of those abandoned houses you see on the news.

Sounds like there's a personal issue with management. There's a lot of politics with union jobs. I could say more but won't on a public forum. Hope you don't get thrown under the bus. Good luck.

Agreed. However, go to your shop steward first. If he/she is no help, contact the union's business agent. If still no result, go to the union headquarters and ask to see the union president. Usually the prez is uninformed about such activity and usually only too glad to help you. (and to make himself look good, lol!)

agree, there is a lot more to this.

this person needs to file a grievance. you only have so many days to do that. IT IS YOUR JOB TO CONTACT YOUR STEWARD AND FOLLOW UP ON THE GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE.

remember it is your job, you need to keep in the loop not just sit there and say gee no one called me.

    Lux Prometheus Thanks this.

Hell NO.. Local 500 can't do #### in Philly.. The President sucks.
Sone think he's being paid off my Sysco.. Many members have been let go.. Due to talking on the phone, accidents etc...
The members at Sysco need to come together and show Sysco they can't walk over their employees..
    Maybe strike
