I know this isn't a flatbed question, but Im just starting in trucking and flatbedding. I have friends that drive and a couple have mentioned a truckers union. Is there one and do I need to be apart of it?

Im coming from 20yrs in the Army, so the union thing is a new thing to me.

www.OOIDA.com is the closest thing to a union for drivers that aren't employed by a union company.

Well, which union did they mention?
Short answer is; only if you want to be in a union.

As mentioned above, join OOIDA first.

Depending on where you live and work, load, and deliver,,,,

It can be a very, very touchy subject!!

    Kinda like religion and politics....
Someone will try and push the "Kool-Aid" and
Surprise, no you won't be able to run through the brick wall!

Ahh I remember that episode actually. If I recall he actually hurt himself pretty bad doing that. I think his neck or back.
I miss the old Top Gear gang, the new fruits they put on the show don't even come close.
