Employment Situation Summary - 2025 M03 Results
Non-farm payroll increased by 4.2%. TV is less reliable than a crazy man talking to himself on a corner in public. -

A while back -- I left the regular employment world for several years...to be a parent's full-time caregiver.
Later on....after I acquired my CDL....no one was willing to hire me (including Swift, Knight, TMC, & McElroy)....except Schneider.
Yes...Schneider gave me a chance...even when others would not.
Since then...I have pulled loads for:
- dry van
- intermodal
- reefer
- gasoline & diesel
What's the point here?
Sometimes carriers can overlook/pass up a worthwhile candidate...who simply needs a chance to show their true colors...due to certain hiring criteria in place...at a given point in time.
The thinking here is...if you have no recent regular employment....no one else will probably hire you (that is worthwhile) -- except Schneider.
Schneider does indeed have the freight to keep you busy. That's a fact.
Their Dallas terminal is relatively new...& it's nice.
It's probably a great place to get started in the CDL world.
But....be warned...if Schneider does in fact later hire you -- be sure to bring your "A game"...with you.
Schneider will expect A LOT out of you...& in a hurry.
The real question here is: are you up for the challenge?

Footnote: Yes....the current (as I write this) tariff situation makes things look shakey...& uncertain.
But....if you wait for "perfect" conditions -- you may never get behind the wheel of a big rig.
I would submit....with all due respect....that Schneider's freight base is now so big....& so diverse....& has so many different customers....that if you were part of their fleet...you could stay busy.
You might later have to do an internal transfer to a different account...or even to a different type of freight (which I did while I was there -- it's no big hassle, really)...but you could indeed stay busy.
Anyway....just some food for thought.
