I have used the verizon all over the country since then. I have never had a problem with it so far. Wished I would have had it instead.

if you pay full retail for any new modems and DON'T take the reduced price with a new contract then they will keep you on your old contract.
If you take the discounted equipment price with new contract then you will be on the limited plan from then on. That's how Verizon just got me. Plus I have had nothing but problems with connectivity since then

I have had nothing but problems with verizon since I upgraded my modem. I can't stay connected more then 3 or 4 minutes at best and downloads are so slow that you can just forget any software or movie downloads.
I have been going around with them for months trying to get this taken care of. I have been through 1000 tech support sessions and finally today I told them I've had it and if they don't end me a different modem I will take all my accounts to another providor and my attorney assures me they can not hold me to a contract when they can not provide the service and connection that I require so I also will not be paying any early disconnect fees on all the accounts as well.

I'm looking at getting a laptop. I will probably go with Verizon, I've had my cell with them for over 6 yrs and never had a problem. With 5gb can I do anything or will I be very limited. What about millenicom, anyone used that. Also looking at on of the devices that plug in to USB to hook up a antenna, any opinions on these. Thanks for your help.

I use my verizon aircard daily, all day long. I've never gone over my 5gb.

this is what i was told at cingular....that it is an 'unlimited plan- but it has a 5gb limit and some people dont ever turn off their internt and still dont go over, and that if i did there would be no charge'.....now that said, ive been told allot of things, BUT i havent ever been charged any different then the month b4....so far i have no real complaints. They must all use the same basic plan of 5g for unlimited or something.

I wasn't led to believe that it was unlimited, and I knew better before I went in. I have been a happy Verizon customer for 12 years so it was only natural that I would go with them. One of the other forum members, Double L, says that he regularly goes over his 5 gb and has to pay the overages.
