Anyone done it???
I've been googling and only coming up with sights that require a pay. Obviously. But they don't seem to send you instructions on what and how to do it.
Instead, they send you an email with a link to click on so they can log in to your computer to unlock your phone. Phone has to be plugged into computer.
I don't know how many people actually do it besides whats on the phone forums. Supposedly only takes 5 minutes but I"m not to hip on using that procedure to unlock my phone.
I'd rather do it myself WITHOUT the help of someone logged in to my system.
I've got a verizon and a sprint phone no longer being used i want to unlock and switch over to att. I don't really want to buy a phone or commit to 30 months payment plan. Just yet. I want to test the waters and that 30 months is a big deal breaker to me. The phones are gsm capable.

You want to switch over to att? And not have a 2 year contract? it does not compute. You will have a contract of service with ATT.
You probably will benefit from a Government Phone using add on cards as you go or a prepaid service like Trac Phone. Just have your serial number and Sim information ready to give them to activate whatever phone you want service on. Whatever you don't burn in minutes rolls over. -
If I remember correctly the companies must now give you the codes to unlock.
Don't ever!!!! Allow anyone access to your systems. Especially off some link in a emall.
I just read an article on this subject a few weeks ago I wish I would have bookmark it. Hitting the rack goodnight.Just passing by Thanks this. -
Verizon has no contract now. About 50 dollars a month they have 10gb plan for 60 per month. Best reliability I've had yet. Have not had at&t. But t-mobile, straight talk, I have and they suck.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
I am not bitter. The new way of living with a smart phone is still a problem. I preferred the old time before there was ever a cell or internet. -
I don't think I can get the unlock code without paying the phone off. I want to test the waters first before i commit to full time and paying the ETF. I have an att hotspot and it works really good.
I have no desire to go back to verizon when att works better. Verizon don't work in half my city anymore. It don't work at home. The 7 miles to work. And the concert venue 1 mile away from home. There's too much dead spot in my work travels. And it really struggles inside buildings and restaurants.
CDMA has the speed but GSM works better. But with the new hotspot i have now. The 5gig channel it has is just as comparable to the CDMA speedwise. It's also the first and only device capable of 5g. I carry it with me as cdma is really piss poor when i need it the most. Although it's a little bit bigger then I'd like it to be. Specially with it's HUGE capacity battery. Around here, if you want a cosistently working signal. ATT is the way to go.
Between my car which is also att and my hotspot. I just have better service then S and V. -

I just unlocked a bunch of iPhones at ATT when I switched to Sprint. I paid off all of the devices and ATT had them unlocked the same day. I did the unlocking via the ATT website. Took a few minutes per phone. I did not have to plug the phone into the computer either, it was all done on their end.
Oh, Sprint is not compatible with ATT, neither was the one Verizon iPhone I had on an Xfinity account. When I switched to Sprint I had to purchase all new iPhones. That was just this past December. Check with ATT first to see if they can even activate your phones.Last edited: Feb 7, 2018
