Very true,I would never do that with the company im at now. They've been good to me so they're getting a 2 weeks notice when I do find another job.

I have never applied to any companies in another trk .If I was an owner of a company and seen a driver show up from another company that to me would speak volumes about that driver. What if he doesn't like it here is he going to take my trk to another terminal and apply,is he going to abandon trk maybe load.I think the potential employer may think its very unprofessional if you don't.

Your first mistake is thinking we are ''professionals''...That is just a word tossed around to make Low Self Esteemed cheap labor drivers feel good about themselves..It's kinda like an ''ATTA BOY''..It seems to get alot of miles and cheap labor out of dumbed down low self esteem drivers who think they are the best...Now that i cleared that up...

Yes it is ok...I have done that many times.I also took the truck to the tittie bars and biker rally's and to cop a dime bag one time too..Don't ask about the hookers in a company truck, you do not wanna know....:biggrin_2559:

Yes, it is unprofessional. Now if you are going right by the place, are not delaying a load and pull in somewhere close, shut the truck off, so as not to waste their fuel and walk, then maybe not. But to have your employers rig sitting in another companies lot, applying for a job, to me that is very wrong.

That would be like when one is dating, and you let your girlfriend borrow your expensive car, and she stops by and sees another guy she wants to date. But hey, she says you were treating her poorly, and that makes it ok......

No matter how they have treated you, you are still collecting their pay check, and driving their truck.

In life, we can not control what other adults may do, (ever try? ), but we can control what we do. At the end of the day, we should be able to sleep well knowing that we did the right thing.

Am I perfect? Of course not, we are all culpable. But "never give up trying and never surrender."

I did this once years ago. The company I was applying to was on my way out of town. I probably went 30 miles out of route. Unprofessional? Not hardly, maybe about as unprofessional as quitting without giving a two week notice; but then again, they don't give you two weeks notice when they fire you.

And any company that would assist a driver in doing this is just as worthless as the hand doing it to there old company.

We laugh about it when one of the competitions trucks is parked at our terminals. Unprofessional? Nope!
