Thanks everyone for the informative replies. All 3 trucks are locked in 105km/h ... just gotta manage the fuel now.

Your truck needs thermostats replaced. It's been -5 to -30 a lot where I'm at this winter and I don't have temp problems without a winter front. It's been getting mid thirtys this week and I can already tell my mpg has improved.

i didn't say i had "problems". i said they run a little cold. I put on a winter front and it does just fine. (184-190) there is no evidence to suggest bad tstat. Lot of cold wind will air cool the truck. the winter fornt just helps keep it warm. b4 the fron it was 150ish, which isnt bad considering -10 winds blowing at 65mph (plus actual wind speed) over my motor.

It's not just fuel, at $1.50 you'll at best break even! That is not a sustainable rate.

If you're staying at 150, it means your Tstat is bad. Mine is doing the same thing right now. Easy fix, I'm just lazy. But I know you know everything. How's your blowby tube doing?

The rate is to low to make $$ ...... Regardless of your mpg ....

It's not like that rate puts you in a great place for a higher paying load tomorrow ......

Exactly, apparently containers are the worst international paying freight out there. They pay 1.05+ fuel down here in Florida, and I wouldn't dream of hauling them. I love pulling containers on my step, but only when the money is right ImageUploadedByTapatalk1395410081.010105.jpg

I just dropped a 40HC in Port Everglades that paid $2.80 p/m out of Jersey City. It has to pay $2.50+ for me to deal with the ports and their BS like Sea Link and RF transponders. Here's a boat I hauled.

There won't be an argument from me that the rate is too low. It just seems to me that his mileage is off and that won't help him no matter what the rate is. If it was me I would be real curious about what is going on there.

Just finished up a nice little container contract returning 30 empty 20' cans to Port of Montreal from 2 locations here in NY state @ $2.00 / mile per can so $4.00 / mile with 2 on a 40' chassis and backhauling 20 and 40'ers loaded at over $2.00 / mile for 1 of our long time customers.

Other thing for the OP is to verify your actual miles per trip to the paid miles per trip on your trip sheet summary from the company if company is paying POSTAL CODE to POSTAL CODE you can lose quite a few paid miles per trip.
