I understand being sleep deprived. For disclosure I'm on a team truck. But if I were solo and sleep deprived due to breakdowns which I understand completely I would tell dispatch to reschedule to so I could rest up first and then give them a new ETA once I waked up if I still had the load. If I would lose the load because of it then I would lose it, but that's just me. I hate driving tired.

Driving on lack of sleep is not good business, even if you feel fine it can creep up on you a few hours into your shift. At the very least know the symptoms of fatigue relative to you. Seeing figures in the road that aren't really there, sudden jerks of your arms or legs, flashes of light, etc. Take care of yourself driver.

I saw a fatigued tanker driver just two nights ago. It was about 2AM. He was all over his lane, the shoulder, and the hammer lane. Clearly he was fatigued due to his complete lack of lane control.

Fortunately the next rest area we crossed he was off the interstate and parking, which there were spots available I saw in my passing. Don't even let yourself go that far. Be off the road before then.
