Yesterday I was sitting at the Pilot in Denver, ex 276, re-setting my 34. A Covenant Trans rig pulled in, Freightliner w/53' dry van. One guy got out to be the monback, and they couldn't get into a staight-back slot in 10 minutes of messing around. They switched tasks, and still couldn't get it in the hole. Another two drivers tried to help them, but these 2 guys never did get that trailer in the hole. It turned out that BOTH OF THEM WERE TRAINEES!!! Covenant Trans, a bad show there, 2 guys with no experience driving a semi truck on public roads. I hope I never get close to them. One of the tandem outers had a 6" dent in the rim, flat tire of course...turns out one of the trainees hooked a low concrete wall. Man. How could that ever turn out to be "safe driving?" Makes us all look bad.

Well since your such a experienced driver you sat on your ### and watched. You should have got out of your truck and helped them instead Im sure you were on the radio as a truckstop rambo whinig and crying such as you are right here.

If your not part of the solution you are the problem. I have helped lots of driver get into spots, some were new, some were just tired after a long or bad day. Believe it it happens to all of us, except for those who choose to lie about it and there not real truckers either.

So bottom line get out and help, instead of complaining while blocking the fuel lanes eating the hot dog you stole and the big gulp.

So, you're saying 3 drivers trying to help would be better than just 2 experienced guys? A very stupid post. What about 2 inexperienced trainees driving a semi, any input on that, genius?

Your absolutely correct, Im guilty of a stupid post of thinking for a second you could have possibily seen what they were doing wrong and had any possible ability to assist anyone. I aplogize for infering you may have been smarter than you are.

Please except my apology for giving you too much credit. By the way the largest problem with new drivers is they get nervous and need to clam down. Most do not give them selves enough room and over steer to comensate.

As far as the 2 trainees driving, Covenant has had a great deal of sucess with this approach to training. Both of these drivers have completed driving with a trainer, and now have someone else to bounce ideas off of bad or good. It really does not matter what I think of it, this approach has had very good results for probably more years than you have been alive.

Team or not if I see another driver in trouble I will offer assistance, because this is how we were trained, back when trainers actually had experience.

That Denver pilot is a cluster later in the day. At the east end parking you gotta watch that two foot high wall cause your dot bumper can get hung up after you let the air out of your bags. If that happens, slide your tandems all the way back.

Starboy had 4 yrs, 200K good miles in the '80's. More cooks don't make a better broth. You don't know me, or if I help out, or not...I do. Being inexperienced is not an excuse for driving over a concrete barrier - could have been some old lady on the corner. Big Dog Pile you're well named. Powder Joints, is that because you're light and fluffy? Nice try, but you weren't there and don't know anything about it. You're just assuming the most negative imagination. I think I've heard you on the CB - you're that perfect driver who feels great bashing anyone - anyone else.
