Question guys, and I hope I’m not looked at as crazy for this but I’ve always wanted to get endorsements so would it be silly for me to start the process of studying, and taking the ELDT to get on my way to obtaining hazmat/tanker endorsements?
-
No...not silly...or crazy, at all.
A good strategy...I would think.
The more endorsements you have....the more you can expect prospective CDL employers to take you seriously.
Those endorsements will also make you more competitive against other rookie candidates.
To get to the better-paying gigs....you have to have at least a hazmat endorsement...in most cases.

Hey guys. My hearing exemption is in effect as of today. I just got back home from the dmv. I have one big question and I’m kinda embarrassed about this but here it is, last year I had an accident in my personal car. Police came and my car was towed. This was last year in chicago. No one was in the other car. I’ve gotten my MVR a month ago and I’m not seeing that accident from last year on it. My MVR is basically clean. On applications when asked if I was involved in an accident, do I put yes or no? It’s been over a year since that accident and I just got my MVR last month.

Was an insurance company involved?
If so, that will show up on the background check.
@Ridgeline knows how that works. -
CalculatedRisk and Chinatown Thank this.

Try small companies with less than 100 trucks. Chances are you will have to find them in truckstops and by that I mean walking around but it’s well worth it. Also post a job on it out in the forum here.
