Upcoming UAW Strike

By now they will never recover what they lost so far in any new contract. My mother worked for a big chicken processing plant when I was young . She loved her job and still talks about it 35 years later it closed after the union went on strike . Nobody won anything except the other non union plant in town who told workers the day the union gets in they will close down . It’s still non union to this day and pays well.

 

While i think Unions are parasiric in nature. These manufacturers can not afford to wait out the breakup of UAW. And start from scratch. So they are quite dependant on each other.
UAW still has not got back the pension and medical concessions they gave up in 08 to keep these jobs there. And now profits are to the moon, and big 3 are balking about labor....

 

That's the reason transport rates are already pathetic and that's what you think is the solution?

 

Im glad you see the big picture that is why for years everyone comes to this forum to cry why do we work for slave wages. I'm starting to understand why .

 

Trucking went down the tubes when this anti union sentiment started with Reagan.

 

Corporate America has systematically broke down the working class to believe exactly what you just said, I thank Jesus I'm on my way out of the work force. Union jobs were the best jobs I ever had in my life. I hope the UAW has some luck in the south because they will need it if they want to convince the thank God I have a job employees that they have a voice.
