Mixed feelings about it. I got it right before the digital dash madness. I have no collision avoidance or adaptive cruise. I also paid 175k for it new. All that is in the past now. The negative- terrible service network, bendix traction control is a mess of reliability. To be honest with you, my next new truck for a company driver probably won’t be a Paccar product. I haven’t made my mind up yet and still have three more years to figure it out. I don’t even know if I can get away from the overpriced junk then. I know I sound like an old man, but I don’t want to spend money on useless tech that breaks. I want quality, low electronics, and darn good price. You know, feel confident and delighted after a purchase, not like you’ve been had. I think it’s a thing of the past.

I was in Ford-KC, tonight. Business as usual. Seems the news outlets know more than those on the ground.
Fain is an arrogant, scandalous piece of crap who has zero concern for the members, just like the teamster president who was over my local, years ago. No matter the outcome, he still gets his paycheck and maintains his standard of living, while members and their families suffers.
All the manufacturers proposed substantial pay and benefit package increases that far exceed anything the average American worker would ever receive. These UAW members are as greedy as the executives. The vast majority of them walked into their jobs as unskilled labor. They need to consider themselves fortunate to have what they do and what has been offered. Unfortunately, they’ve forgotten where they came from. I’d gladly trade my career for theirs.
When the topic of executive pay comes up, not one single floor worker has an equivalent skillset, level of responsibility, level of education (in most cases), level of experience, level of knowledge, or anything else. It’s a moot point. Unfortunately, the ignorant, underachievers of the world wouldn’t dare acknowledge this reality. The easy way is to make accusations about these executives, rather than overachieve to become one of them. -
FACTS!Siinman, WisWestern, ducnut and 1 other person Thank this.

They'll be happy to take YOUR job too but you're too ignorant to realize what you're saying.
And I have no love for the UAW or any union worker that has their heads that far up their ### where they think 32 hour workweek and 40% pay raise is somehow resonable. These clowns want OT after 32 hours.Magoo1968, Siinman, Jubal Early Times and 2 others Thank this. -
They already are. One look across the fuel islands, who’s in line at the ship/receive window, who’s in line at the fuel desk, etc, shows Americans are becoming the minority in this industry. Any job an American feels isn’t worth their time has a queue of immigrants waiting to fill the position.

No not ignorant. I know what I said. I’ve been watching them slowly take our part of this country back since the legendary fight for Tejas independence in 1836.Siinman Thanks this.

When the subject of worker compensation comes up it seems like some people talk as if worker pay and management pay comes from different sources and don’t affect the company bottom line the same. Can someone clue me in as to why it is talked about that way?

I haven't read all the posts here but........
I am 64 years old. My wife is turning 65 this month.
I have a 2007 Ram 1500 4X4 Off Road w/249,000 miles.
I just picked up a 1990 Chevy C30 / 3500 one ton
My wife has a 2008 GMC Yukon w/220,000 miles.
She was recently looking very hard at getting a newer vehicle before we retire in 2 years. We looked for about 4 months. With car prices and interest rates the way they are with no end in sight, I told her to just put $3000 in her car for updates/repairs & drive it. I'm on the same page as I was looking for a 5 or so year old one ton.
We will both die with these three vehicles if they don't get totaled some way.
With car prices where they are, both new & used.... & with the costs about to go up probably another 15%... they can all go out of business for all I'm concerned.
I hate it for the indirect workers & business'... but you can blame it on the auto industry. If (people/indirect jobs) continue to buy vehicles at these inflated costs.... they're no different than the auto workers themselves for making things worse & putting their job at risk.
Treat them just like Bud Light & Target. Stop buying cars.... & put the hardship back on the automakers. Prices will go down to a fair & reasonable price.
I know that will never happen because people now days have more "want" than "sacrifice". Ten years from now, people will be paying $200,000 for a pickup truck. Y'all enjoy..........
This ain't about them... its about America. Do what's right for the country & the rest will fall into place.Magoo1968, hope not dumb twucker, Big Road Skateboard and 7 others Thank this. -
I think uaw is playing the game badly. Im waiting to see what plants are next. Lowering pay demand to 36% is lip service from uaw.
hope not dumb twucker, Siinman and bzinger Thank this.
