I'm beginning to wonder if the training schools or instructors are in cahoots with the stealerships to get trucks in for failed clutches or drive line failure. I can't believe my eyes of some of the stuff I'm reading here. I've seen trucks start off from a red light and the truck is just shuttering and hopping up and down so bad I just cringe. Its like a race to see who gets going faster.

I don't even like taking off in 1st gear I feel it is hard on my truck. Maybe I'll do 2nd bobtailing but that's it. I guess it all comes down to how the truck is geared, or if you are loaded or not. You will know if the gear you like to start out in is too much.

And tell him when to brake, and when to switch lanes, and when to pee, and which hand to use to pee. Because, without the cattleprods, and the ADT monitor sitting at the desk, they could not safely do the job. And the absolute best thing? You don't have to pay them but minimum wage!

Do a job that a moron can do, yet complain about the moronic treatment.

I can let out the clutch in 4th when empty, no fuel needed, no hop. Im not trying to win any races, but its nice to clear a intersection before the yellow.....

There are driveshafts that wont take the full torque possible. Because...

Fleet Managers too cheap to spec 1850 pound feet torque drive shafts...

Shafts designed to twist and fail so that the final drive etc are all protected, essentially the shaft is the fuse that fails first.

Discourages a bit of pull races or walking away races at the lights between drivers who know that they could kil the shaft and lose their jobs.

Increasing number of drivers snap something sliding at scale houses.

I don't consider a Diamond Reo or T inferior. OR a good tuned white from the late 50's Granted I would not meet today's trucking appointments of three days from here to god knows where USA 10,000 miles away.

Who is they? You are in too high of a gear......I never start out in 4th. Usually 2nd gear unless on a downhill, then 3rd.

    Fair enough.

Do it like they want, then. Rev to 700 rpm, and ease slowly off the clutch (slipping the clutch). Or if you really want to get their attention, go to 6th gear, rev to 1500 rpm and dump the clutch.

I did that once racing a 1995 302 mustang. 93 COE, 500 plus detriot on a rockwell. Light goes green stang took off, I dumped the clutch at 2150 she sceeched off the line leaning horribly with brown smoke filling the air behind us. (Bobtail.) ran out of top end in that gear at about40 plus, went into 8th and stomped it. Things got even worse inside the cab but I had the stang falling back bye bye. at 78 or so I entered top gear and it was all over at 115 plus.

    No.
    The #### is the problem?
I nurse it into full torque - I know where my money is made and how to operate a clutch and how to operate it - 295k and counting. I don't dump it; I don't abuse my equipment on purpose.

    All you pansy #####.
    *shakes head*

Start in second if you want. Just fine by me. But don't get on my ### when I KNOW what my pulling gear is for the weight I'm bearing.
