Find a smaller local outfit to drive for... as a rule you will be MUCH happier than working for a mega carrier....

Sounds like you're getting on well at ATDT. I looked at them but decided on the Calhoun Comm College program instead. I'll be interested to see what carrier you decide on. Good luck!

I don't know what that means (that I highlighted in blue). What is a tier? Why is lumping plywood for decks and furniture moves?

If lodging is including in the school price, then it's covered...I believe they only cover up to $4000 which won't leave a lot of room for anything, pending the cost of your school...

mine was not covered... however... the school did put me up in a camper at their courtesy. Otherwise I would have had to make other arrangements.

if you are in Alabama... I STRONGLY recommend Affordable Truck Driver Training in Moulton, Alabama.

they bent over backwards to help me get my CDL

How close of friends are you with this guy you want to team with? I ask because spending that much time with someone in such small quarters might wreck a life long friendship. Also teaming is really tough, it's hard to sleep in a moving truck, hard to sleep in a truck that's getting unloaded or loaded. You have to decide which hours work best for the other person. It can be tough to drive all through the night for some people, me I never had any problems as long as I had enough sleep. I could drive all through the night when I was solo, but when I was teaming I tried driving through the night and it started to get to me real bad. I quit the team driving deal after about 4 months. Solo is much better, yeah with teams you might get a little better miles, but is it worth spending that much time with someone else in cramped spaces, living with there quirks and downfalls. I prefer solo. Just thought I'd comment on the team deal. But like the others said try to find a smaller company, try to stay away from the mega carriers unless you like being treated like a number.

Darryl and his staff are TOP NOTCH! When you get there, tell Chris and D that Robert said hi. Chris and D will mess with you (as long as you are good) but Sarge is ALL business.
