No foul is thinking 5 to 10 years is an adequate sentance for killing 4 people.

Adequate doesnt even come into play when life was lost... Because nothing will be adequate. But there is justice, and responsibility.

IMO 5 to 10 is not enough in this case... 10 to 15, better. Once he is out he will have to start from the bottom, with nothing... Trust me when I say that is worse than serving time.

After a couple years, prison is home... And the real world scares the hell out of you. He will be scared at first in prison, but will adjust quickly. Then he will be even more scared when he gets out... And that adjustment is so much harder, because he will actually have to do something to survive... And begin to truly repay his debt to society by becoming a productive part of it.

He killed 4 people as result of what is at best piss poor decision making, there is no repaying that debt as he only has one life to repay it with. What you WILL see as a result of this is more accidents like this because there is no actual punishment for it, don't tell me a half dozen years in prison is punishment I ain't that dumb. Then we'll have to put up with more stupid worthless regulations like the Elog mandate stupidity that is a feel good ######## regulation that does nothing because everytime somebody kills someone, or a handful of someones, you're afraid to throw them in jail and melt down the key. All of you who are for this idiots sentance being reduced should just be quiet next time there's some "safety" regulation being proposed as you don't actually give a #### about anyone's safety.

10 years is awfully lenient. What really makes me mad about this whole thing is knowing he’ll get out in less than 10 years and will more than likely find some loophole to be back behind the wheel of a truck.

Perhaps a family member of the deceased will even up the score on release day

Please, he's more likely to get a million dollar book deal about how tough his life is and how he didn't even deserve 10 years in prison.

I mean....10 years, 15 years....either way it's a long time. 5 extra years wouldn't have really made Governor Polis much meaner lol. He slashed that sentence majorly. He's getting a punishment. Thats what so many people want anyway. I'm also glad because this would have set a bad precedent in trucking and all truckers. So many people have it out for truckers anyway, and if a fatality occurs inadvertently in a different situation, that trucker would be up the creek for a grip.

I'd agree with you if I felt it was deliberate. I don't feel that way. While I am sympathetic towards the victims families, I don't feel like people are looking at the whole body of work here. They are only focused on the result, which is fueling such negative emotion/opinions. Anyway, regardless of, I am delighted that this young man is getting a 2nd chance down the line. I don't feel like he's a criminal. He made some mistakes/bad decisions and he will pay dearly for it. We all foul up and sometimes the consequences are serious. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt in saying that he had learned from this and hopefully will do better.

If you think locking someone up for 110 years is improving safety, then I may have to question your thinking. You can punish someone repeatedly, but how does that make the industry better? You gotta have drivers. These companies gotta get these drivers better prepared for the road. It starts with training. Companies ought to use this as a teaching tool for newer drivers.

I see you're still upset about the elog mandate....lol 4 years later. They put in these regs because people don't act right. People were getting killed from drivers over doing it. In comes elogs. They had to do something, and these accidents don't have a thing to do with elogs in my mind. Again it goes back to training. Drivers have to be better at trip planning and efficient time management management. 11 hrs a day is plenty of time to make a run. I think it's better this way, but I like elogs lol.....I like anything that makes trucking easier lol

Yeah, we've been over how you've twisted purposely steering back into parked traffic isn't intentional more than enough times. I'm sure if he'd been a half hour over his drive time you'd be calling for his head though. Your sympathy is pathetic when you're calling for the guy to barely be held responsible for his actions, like an arsonist feeling sorry for burning a house down.
It's not just a simple mistake. He didn't pull the thread out of an oil pan trying to go right loosey. He didn't forget to put the oil plug back in or make sure the old o ring on the filter didn't stay behind, those are mistakes. This isn't a simple mistake, he ####ing killed people, learning his lesson now is a day and a dollar short.
