Because SP was tough as nails to begin with.....
I only "knew" him from this forum.....
But I guarantee SP was carried into the next life fighting......
I had hoped he could have stuck around a little longer....He still had much wisdom to impart.....I suppose God thought he needed SP more than us......![]()

Hey Dino or Mrs. SP...don't know if it's appropriate or not at this time....you can just tell me NO and I would understand...but i'd like to make a request. Is it possible to post a picture of southernpride, for us to see the man that we all knew and respected?
Diesel Dave, puncher, dino6960 and 17 others Thank this. -
My condolences to you, Mrs Pride, and all of his family and friends. May he rest in peace.dino6960 Thanks this.

Somehow, I just found all this-I knew Southernpride had been doing poorly, but I haven't kept up all that well around here lately, and didn't realize how serious it was, and now he's gone. Dino, I really appreciate your efforts to keep folks updated.
SP was about as ornery and opinionated as ornery and opinionated old cusses get. He made no apologies for his opinions, and if you didn't like them, that was OK with him-but you were definitely still wrong. He minced no words about what he thought the problems were with this industry, and who he thought were causing them. All that's not really that impressive-a child can run its mouth about what upsets it, and do it persistently and without any pleasantries or sugarcoating. What impressed me about the man was his willingness and the effort he put into correcting himself and admitting where he was wrong on the rare occasions when he was. It takes a man to admit his faults, and SP, despite his tough talk, was the finest of gentlemen.
It almost goes without saying that SP went out of his way to help folks when they needed it, this forum is chock-full of evidence of that. It's a rare and desirable trait in a man to be willing to serve others to the point of self-sacrifice, and SP had that, and this place is better for having been graced with his presence.dino6960, Ducks, biker dave and 15 others Thank this. -
