Update Road King 400 Bluetooth Headset?

Road King's web site does not seem to have a support page (wtf?)

But I have an older RK400 Bluetooth headset and iPhone. When I pair (after having been turned off due to inactivity), I will twice get a connect then disconnect before a permanent connect on the third attempt.

Always does this and headset battery charge state makes no difference.

I was wondering if these devices can somehow be "updated" or reflashed to keep up with changing standards? This behavior started a few iOS upgrades ago IIRC

I rarely talk on the phone while driving and so rarely use the headset and can't justify getting another one just to hopefully eliminate this issue. It works fine, otherwise.

Or is it maybe an issue with iOS and Road King headsets in general?
