UPS Approved for Drones!!!

That's it for UPS then for package delivery unless i start slapping 1000.00 plus insurance on the box. Payable back to me on loss.

 

I bet you the ranch that is what going to happen, and UPS will go away.

 

You can't just insure anything for $1000 and get paid on it. You have to prove the value of it. You send a hot wheels car let's say and insure it for $1000 and it gets lost. They are gonna pay out your retail price of $0.98 and refund your insurance payment that you put on it to try to get the $1000. On the commercial side of things it's hard to get more than wholesale if that's what think you are paying for stuff.

 

The proving is not a problem. The hobby I am in happens to be high value out of production items as set by the bidder. I ship on a minimum of 1000.

The last time I did a claim was for 550. US Postal service slammed a computer supported items internally destroying it. They refused. So I shipped it back to the shop and had them rebuild then hold the item to any buyer for 550. It took 7 months but I broke even and shop got some money out of a lemon.

We don't ship USPS anymore.

 

So then you would actually be losing valuable items and kind of ####ing yourself over in the process......just saying.

 

Which is why I am not shipping UPS.

Fed Ex and one other courier was able to do a number of deliveries that were flawless. And also high dollar. I don't do more than three a year if that maybe two years...

What I am trying to emphasize is that UPS wants to ship the thing by drone? Have at it. Its not me shipping with them.

 

That will be for specialized services and very pricey. It will be used by the medical industry etc.
But I have seen UPS demonstrational videos showing package cars equipped with drones that can be controlled by the driver.

I don't see many UPSers worried about it.

 

It's good slow news day filler right along with the self driving trucks lol.
