I would have expected much better from UPS. I'm a company driver, and I log an average of 50 hours / week, home 19 out of 20 working days / month on average, don't work Saturday or Sunday unless I want to, and grossed $83K in 2015, my second year with the company. That equates to about $1.20 / mile for all miles. And we're non-union. Yes, it's mostly LTL, and I fingerprint the LTL freight. Weekends and holidays that I choose to work are no-touch freight.

Oh, it is much better with UPS, you just need to do your time and get seniority. Some of these drivers come over and expect to make top pay... some are just at a terminal that just doesn't have the work, so of course you will be struggling.
I've been in LTL over 20 years and with a few different companies, its the same where ever you go. Start at the bottom and work your way up. When you get 5-10 years over here the struggle will be worth it. in my opinion. I started at the bottom, and "starved" just like the rest.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Im a road driver with UPS Freight. We have guys on the bottom of the seniority board making 50k but we also have a decent amount of guys making 100k plus with our top guys making 120k.

I have NEVER gotten a tip on a residential delivery! I don't get get them very often, though.
@Russian Rabbit once you hit top rate, those 48-50 hour weeks are going to pay really well! Congrats, man.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
HAMBURGERS!
Again forgot to stop at a RR crossing with hazmat on board; Our terminal is located in an industrial park---at the entrance there are RR tracks.
i got too much on my mynd----some happy thoughts, some not as happy thoughts........ -
When I started out hauling hazmat, I did the same thing. It got me so concerned I decided never to talk on the phone or listen to talk radio while I was placarded. I also put a Post It note on the windshield that said "HAZ". Now, I no longer just sail over tracks. I always think of whether or not I'm placarded as I approach.

I applied for a UPS Freight otr opening. I just received a call she's saying $ .39/mile is that correct?
-
Us bus drivers have to stop at railroad crossings as well ( I have passenger bus endorsement so I can call my self a bus driver.)
-
It might be correct but it blows.
