Yes, we're already in "clean up" mode, which i feel is a little premature; i don't think the strike will happen.

Nope. Wasn't me. i only drop trailers in yards or parking lots.

i think the other carriers are already getting busier because we're not picking up a lot of freight, again in anticipation of the possible strike and again i don't think it will happen because too many guys (myself possibly soon) have bought new cars, large houses etc. and can't afford NOT to work.......

Whereas a few weeks ago, the common atmosphere in the air was, HELL NO to the new contract proposal.

But now, it's like, "well maybe it's not so bad----i can't afford not to work........"

    STRIKE AIN'T HAPPENING.

    1) Not exactly back to "normal;" Some of our extra boards have NOT been running since the "crisis" 2 weeks ago. All of our assign runs----niteliner and other 000 series runs ARE running as normal.

    2) Will post my checks asap----my little whiteout tool broke, but i'm averaging $1500-$1700 gross per week.

    3) Went over to small pack yesterday and will again today mostly because i want to see what it's like AND i need a lot more $$$ because i too, soon, will , like the rest of my co-workers will overbuy; Moving into a different place----hey, got to impress the ladies, you know.

(it's apparently a new thing where freight drivers can go over to small pack if there's no work at freight)

It pains me to say this, but i'm SO GLAD i don't work for small pack. THIS PLACE IS JACKED UP. And you though freight was bad......

Yes. I'll message you information if you want, because talking money in public is gross.

i wouldn't work at parcel unless it paid $1.50 a mile and $50 per hour. And even then, i probably wouldn't last. i would rather do food / beverage service than work at small pack. Can you believe it? This should tell you how the atmosphere is.

i want to say that it's NEVER ok for any type of violence in the workplace (shootings etc.), but after seeing how small pack is, i have a better understanding why it happens often at small pack.

AGAIN, it's never ok to go on a rampage at work. You take yourself out first, by quitting, getting help, doing whatever you need to do to fix the situation. Not by taking it out on others. That being said, maybe some felt like they were being harassed. Maybe they sought out the avenues ups has in place to deal with that and it didn't go anywhere, or maybe they didn't seek them out at all. i am open to discussing this topic openly and in greater depth.

i am not trying to discourage anyone from working at small pack. These are just my opinions. After all, thousands and thousands of people work at small pack everyday and they seem to be getting along ok. i don't know how the hell they do work at small pack, but they do.

    P.S.
i left work friday and saturday depressed. Where's the job satisfaction? i don't care if it pays $1 per mile and $34 per hour or however much pack gets.

Compared to freight, where when i leave work i feel a sense of accomplishment.

Man. I would love to know which terminal you're near, because it's a completely different atmosphere at my terminal. And our nearby Freight terminal is miserable. Haha terminal cultures make such a huge difference.
