    That seems absolutely terrifying.

This was likely the most terrifying moment so far in my career irregardless of company. In the top 2 for sure.

So the new strategy, along with passing work as much as possible to the lower senior drivers (although that won't work too much because we're very busy), then is: IF i have not gotten "good" sleep, i.e., at least 6.5 hours for two consecutive days, then i will take a nap for at least one hour on that second night at work irregardless if i "feel" sleepy or not----apparently if i'm able to fall asleep quickly and stay asleep, then that means i WAS sleepy.....
(although 6.5 hours is really not that good)

i think lately i was driving it pretty hard, feeling good about efficiency and priding about being constantly on-time, if not early, feeling a little smug whenever i passed some of my other company's trucks when they were in a rest area.

    2) Another factor relating to this will be discussed in depth on the upcoming podcast.

This CANNOT and WILL NOT continue.

Again, if we look at the last check i posted, i put an arrow against the wrong total. It seems likely that we may not realize how tired/sleepy we become?

This was after sleeping for about 8-9 hours on saturday. Then after posting that i got something to eat and slept another 5 hours.

My linehaul stint will almost assuredly end after this bid period (we bid every 6 months).

i will officially and unequivocally state that:

    1) i would rather work the dock than do (NIGHTIME) linehaul.

    2) i would rather do food delivery than (NIGHTIME) linehaul. And food is one of my most hated job categories, not just in trucking, but overall......
Not that i would have to do this.

i don't have to do foodservce, i'm just saying if it came down to those two choices......

i would rather do OTR than nightime linehaul provided i could get home every weekend----really linehaul IS like otr----there's only time to go home and sleep, then you get the weekends off.

With OTR, you can make your own work schedule at least......

    When i run, I RUN.

    1) 66.44 hours total, i believe

    2) Tired as F;
This would illustrate that IF you're willing to run, this is what you can achieve here. i would, however, recommend against it as it is likely hazardous to your health.
