What are you going to do with all that money when you get an $8 or $10 an hour raise?

I might start a change jar at the house. That would be neat. Those quarters and dimes really add up.

In all seriousness, I would really like to pay my house off.

That is an excellent plan! Do your best to max out your 401k also when you can. You would be shocked how quickly it can grow when invested fairly aggressively.

    LtlAnonymous and Cardfan89 Thank this.

On it. Definitely going to work all of that out. May have to have an IRA and a 401k, for tax purposes.

Doing both is the ultimate goal when looking for the maximum contribution as an employee. For myself I prefer the Roth for my employee side of the contribution and I give up the tax deduction now for the ability to have tax free growth. My employer side of the contribution has to be traditional and I get the tax deduction as a business expense. Most of the numbers I have seen run, the Roth comes out paying much less in overall taxes and gives more flexibility when you do retire. Either way is still a great plan.

Not sure if you are aware, but you WORK FOR UPS. If you are a driver for UPS you can not plan on doing anything else but work and sleep during your work week.

    LtlAnonymous and jmz Thank this.

Correct. I was also leaning toward the Roth based on my research.
