Neither of them are great options. Unless you’d be cutting a significant amount of time off your commute, it’s probably not worth it. I’d figure out what good companies you actually want to work for, and wait until they’re hiring. That’s how I ended up at FedEx Freight.

In your opinion, what makes FedEx Freight better?
-
Overall good equipment, no driver facing cameras, excellent pay, if not THE best pay in LTL.
Bottom tier of progression in FXF is several dollars per hour higher than UPSFs bottom tier as well.
Insurance isn’t great but you don’t get raked over the coals on itsnowbird_89, Cardfan89, LPjunior1970 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I’m not saying it’s better, it was just my top choice when I was working for a different company, and I didn’t try jumping around to other jobs while waiting for them to be hiring.
I wanted to do LTL linehaul that was home daily, and FxF had the highest pay, was the biggest company in the industry, was reasonably close to my house, and sometimes hired straight into linehaul at the location I was interested in. -
Try R&L. They have several terminals down your way.
