well if you know how fuel tax works then you would know what those terms commonly mean, and if a person truly understands the fuel tax and how it works you can make the fact that the company "pays the tax " work to your advantage. when they "pay the tax" you can buy fuel where it is actually the lowest pump price instead the lowest price minus the fuel tax, neither you nor gitrdun45 have a full understanding of the fuel tax cause you have no idea of this concept. you are the very first person I have ever heard of who even remotely thought that "we pay the fuel tax" was even remotely connected to paying back the tax paid at the pump.
Exactly, when I ran for a Northeast company that paid fuel tax, I only fueled in NJ. I'd never fuel in NJ now unless it was absolutely the last resort.
thanks glock, good to get a reply from someone with a clue. with mercer they pay the tax, so nj fuel saves me a ton of money now.
Well Mr. Skater I'm proud your a SUPER TRUCKER and no everything about fuel taxes. Maybe you should get a job with the GOV. Besides I'd take ya on knowledge of fuel taxes anyday. I was being silly in that comment. Like you I have no intention to run like a company driver. If I don't have a clue post some tax returns and show us the big figures you THINK you make. Walk the walk know it all. Cause unlike not wanting to work and be home every night I want to keep running weeks on end and make the money. So look forward to seeing those FACTS . Or even if you know it all in what states to buy fuel why don't you help other drivers on here that need to know instead of thinking you know and keeping it to yourself?????? How it going to hurt ya? You say you know it all.
Actually, I buy my fuel based on the price with IFTA taken out and compare prices in various states where I travel accordingly. Ultimately, the bottom line is fuel cost per mile in light of revenue per mile. But thinking that a quarterly savings of $450 in additional fuel tax is a bonus while running for $0.90 per mile is absurd.
skateboardman,I wouldn't even bother,it,s a waste of your breath,me u and everybody eles in the no no's
youre right, should have left that part, a man who knows it all, will never learn new things, because of the fact that he thinks he already knows it all, and thus is doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over again.
