All you have to do is set pallets outside in El Paso and they will be gone by morning. The recyclers from Juarez will handle it for you free of charge

UPS package unloads the boxes one by one onto a conveyer belt and not with a fork lift therefore they do not have the ability to unload pallets at the unload door. Most trailers are taken to a pallet clean out lot when they are done unloading them. At the Louisville airport they have one or two workers per shift who unload pallets and sweep out trailers, but not on the weekend. The trailer you picked up may have been unloaded on the weekend and that may be why it was not empty. You shoud have asked your company to pay you for your time or sold the pallets to a pallet buyer yourself.

UPS can't tell the customer how to ship their freight. The freight is hauled by UPS, but UPS is not the customer. If they told the customer what to do, the customer would simply use Fed Ex. Most UPS facilities have trailer clean out employees who remove pallets, but not every location does and not 24/7. They also do what you refer to, they sell pallets to recycling companies and give pallets to customers who want them for no cost.
