I’m not sure if you are saying this jokingly or not but you raise a good point. My girlfriend is in the police academy and they had a solid week of classroom training, everyday 8 hours, JUST about how to and to not, phrase stuff. If you’re a wordsmith almost every “minor” traffic infraction can be bs’d out of. Which is good to know for me and others like me in the civilian world.![]()

By law, not interpretation but law, in Michigan if there are three or more lanes, ALL trucks stay out of the left lane except to exit and then they have to come into the lane one mile or less.
NOW here is the thing about the word "Trucks", they include ANY commercial vehicle with a GVW .... ready for this crap .... one of four GVWs .... 1 - any CMV, 2 - 5500 lbs gvw, 3 - 8800 gvw, 4 - over 10k gvw.
NO cop has yet explained it to me, and I know there are three different laws covering what is a CMV and what is a truck, and in one there are two definitions.
It don't matter if you are passing anyone, stay out of that left lane. -
Any road LEAVING Toledo is a good route.
Thank you. I'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress.
Good night. -
You jinxed me. Came here to washout and gotta wait “a couple hours”
before they get to me. Looks like Toledo got me in the web tonight

Do you know where the law is? I ask as I've been told that even pulling my 5th wheel camper I fall under the truck definition for speed limit and left lane usage. I look every spring or so and haven't found it yet.

I have to search for the email I have with all the laws, yeah pulling anything with a commercial vehicle here is considered commercial, I got two tickets when I bought my rv/truck before I got it re titled. the first time I was towing my little car trailer with it, got nailed by Wayne county sheriff who was a prick, pulled me over a few months later when it became an RV and he was not happy. The second ticket was from blowing passed the 94 scale east of Jackson on the way to Indiana, it was an RV and I still got the ticket, the cop wasn't buying the RV licensing at all, it was tossed in court.ZVar Thanks this.
