got that right! Too light is when a trailer gets blown over, whether it is 7500 or 45000, WYDOT doesn't specify, so pucker factor should come into play, even if the driver is new. I don't want anyone hurt of course, but man....when does one say enough is enough? I get the dispatch pressure, etc. Glad I have ultimate call with my company.

A big enough wind under the right circumstances will take out just about anything. There isn't any way to say this is okay, that isnt. My best guess is any load under 30,000 would make you a light trailer. If you carry enough horseshoes, 4-leaf clovers, and rabbit's feet you should be able to go no matter what, just don't break yer mirrors

There's no "right" answer. I came up 287 out of Ft Collins today empty. There were a couple times I was down to 35 and telling myself how stupid I was for being up there. Wind is unpredictable however pulling the same trailer most of the time makes your judgement call easier. I know my 52ft spread holds the ground better than a closed tandem. If I still had my 48ft tandem I'd still be in Ft Collins. You also have to think about how the wind will be hitting you. I guess what I'm saying is it's up to you to figure out what you're ok with regardless of what you have on for weight.

I'll figure it out shortly when I head out. I've had the same 48 spread for a few weeks now and have gotten used to how it handles. i tell my self the same thing sometimes.

Just got a text from Wyodot about black ice guess I'll leave a little later in the am
