I took that route 2 days ago from Kingman. My Rand McNally GPS would not route on it, tried to make me go 100 extra miles over to the 17. But I remembered I read this thread and made my own route on the 93 and loved it. Outstanding views, terrain and environments.

I may know part of the reason it's not listed in the atlas or on some GPS as a truck route. When I first started driving I was with Gordon before they were bought out by Heartland. I was dispatched to Kingman from Blythe with a high cube trailer full of bottled water. In Wickenburg AZ there is an underpass (on 60 just before it meets 93) that a high cube won't fit under and you couldn't see the clearance signs easily until you're about under it. I heard the roof of my trailer give a little scrape as I went through the underpass. Had I not been hauling a full load of water I would have peeled the roof off the trailer. Asked my dispatcher why they would route me that way, and she had no idea. Maybe it's marked better now, but it sure wasn't then.

Update your GPS, my Rand took me through there a couple weeks ago just fine. Beautiful country.

That must be the same one. I seem to recall I saw the clearance sign that said 13'6" as I drove under it at around 35 MPH pulling a trailer that was 13'6" tall. I got lucky that day.

So that one is marked at actual height?

It must be. I had a 45,000 pound load and it scraped as I went under it.

At one time there was 2 bump signs on that road, you slowed down and it was smooth as glass, so I didn't slow all that much for the second one, and all I can say is they didn't waste that sign. lol
I blew two of those little 17.5 tires on a tow away stepdeck about half way one sunday night,. I had to get a service truck out of kingman, I forget the price, but it weren't cheap. lol
