I'm wondering if anyone has a decent phone plan. I'm talking about North America. Calling to Canada, calling to the US Telus had a decent one a while back that I used. It gave me 400 minutes a month for 150.00. Not good at all by US standards, but not bad for our primitive society.
What do you have?

Go with Verizon. Best coverage in North America with the lowest rates! Telus/Sprint has the poorest coverage of the three majors.

Yup, go south and grab a Verizon phone with the Canada plan on it.
-
450 minutes, 59.99. no roaming, no long distance.............
pay bills on line.
U might ned a U.S. address...................I used my sis- in-laws...........
No complaints, any issues I had ( only one) were eresolved quickly and politely. -
Make up a US address and have the bill paid by your Visa/Master Card.

i'got a Virgin she's the only one in Canada (Ontario) I found with a U.S. plan, $40 for 100 minutes..... for a month. I'm gonna look 4 this Verizon w/ "Canada plan" while I'm down here.

TA in Wytheville, VA has a rep there also.
If you walk into a Verizon store you always do better and find smarter/sharper people # corporate Verizon stores as to the store owned and run by the locals. They typically don't get the "Canada" thing.
The best (imho) is the Verizon push to talk>It only adds $15 a month to your bill and you can talk all day on it! -
Another option is to use a calling card. I heard NUVO which is available # Petro Pass has really good rates. It was tailored towards calling in North America.

I was at the SanAntonio Petro, they don't really get the Canadian thing but they did have a pamphlet that explains the details.Last edited: May 18, 2011
