Driving a faster truck is not going to guarantee you make more money... That is a myth.

Well, I'd never consider driving a 68 mph truck.. I run a lot of Texas where the limit is 75 and I like running a couple over :)

I wouldn't be surprised if the US Express move is in response to this sort of broader news:

Oil up nearly 4% for week on reported progress in U.S.-China trade talks, rise in Middle East tensions

I also wouldn't be surprised if other companies make a similar move in the near future. It looks like there's probably going to be a lot of volatility in the crude oil market for the foreseeable future.

*Disclaimer* - This is not posted to start a political debate or argument. I'm just pointing out a functional reality in the world that could be spurring an action > reaction cycle.

Maybe not but it will give you more downtime and a better chance at finding a parking spot.

    Concorde Thanks this.

No it won't....not stopping at evey truckstop along the way will help with time management...keeping the left door closed most of the day will help with that...

If you going to drive at horse and buggy speed. Why not just get a horse and buggy?

Some of us have powerful trucks and like to go faster than 62.

    Money getting tight.
First thing any company does is turn down trucks
And start #####ing about idling trucks.
    That's step number one.
