Already gone, I work out of Albany. What's your hourly rate? We are non-union and my hourly rate is 20.60. We get paid the better of incentive or hourly and I've never had a paycheck that was better hourly, even with 52 hours.

The incentive pay breaks down like this:

$20.60 x 1.5 for required work before and after your route. Doesn't take nearly that long.
    $25 for not getting hurt
$25 for not having an at fault accident
$15, $20 or $22 for how fast you work. If you work 95%, 100% or 110% you get those "bonuses"
$2.50 for keeping your total stop time idle % under 4%
$3.75 per stop and invoice. Sometimes you might have 8/0, sometimes 15/25.
.1485, .1683 or .1948 cents per case. If your average cases for the day are under 40, you get the highest bracket. Between 41-70 middle, 71+ lowest.
    $.10 for 1-150 miles, $.12 for miles 151-200, $.15 for 200+ miles. Ex $36 for 300 miles
You also get a $100 bonus for getting called in on your normal off day.

The pay works out great. I've got two identical routes a week for the 9 stops with ~300 cases and 40 miles. $200 in 4.5 hours. I float the other two days. I normally work 32 hours a week and gross $1000. My best check was $1490 gross pay.

Senior guys who work 5 days a week have easy routes normally make $1800 at least.

I've seen a route for 1 stop with 2986 cases. The guy also got called in to do it. It's a quarterly route to a prison in MA where they even unload it with pallet jacks. Took 4 hours total and was worth $675.

our senior guys usually bid on the dock stop/pallet jack loads. since im not on a bid yet, i dont have enough seniority, its nice being called up and being able to bid on one of the easy routes for the day.

how are your benefits? we have independant health, for 39 and change a week for family insurance. great insurance too, my wife just had a kid and we didnt pay a penny for anything! we get vision, dental, and life ins for free through the union, as well.

We also have a 401k set up like a pension, with hourly automatic contributions. for the first 40 hours a week, they put in 1.90 an hour, so you end up with 76 bucks a week automatically in a 401, even with none of your own contributions. I really like that, Its no pension, but its better than most 401's! I also throw in 3%, just to get it up over 100 a week.

We get paid for our work boots too, 125$ a year, and they bring the boot truck in a few times. I don't go for the Chinese boots though, so i end up spending some of my own money on Red Wings that were made here, and end up spending 60 of my own money on top of theirs.

whoops, i meant in the first reply " we work a 4 day 10 hour shift, except for guys on a 3 day 13 hour bid, or 5 day 8 hour bid. 5 day bids are rare though, as you would REALLY make the money. the way they load us, you would be walking out with 30 hours of OT a week.

Don't know much about us foods besides they are union which can be a plus.

Talking to a Sysco driver he said they are paid by the package they deliver and can work long hours. Said the pay is good but can be a tough job. I like being paid hourly the best.

There is a guy here who works for us foods on here somewhere if I see his name I'll pm it to you
