I was just talking to a restaurant manager in Atlanta last night and she told me she'd go completely with US Foods if she could, because Sysco is constantly a pain in her butt. According to her, Sysco is always sending different drivers who don't know where they're going or exactly what to do once they get there, and they never show up on a dependable schedule. If the restaurant gets its delivery late, it can throw the kitchen off for the whole night because they spend more time in prep than they do actually cooking and plating food for customers.
On the other hand, US Foods she says, is always on time, the driver is professional, he gets the order right, and he's in and out of there quickly. -
They do that everwhere, I guess at USF Buffalo, the last 3 contracts there have been strike votes won. every time the company and union get a last minute deal. Same thing with Sysco Syracuse, always a fight, right up until the last minute.... -
good luck, the phoneix terminal was just popped by the NLRB for 200 labor law violations during a union organizing drive. the labor board forced the company to recognize the union and give them a contract because of so many violations of the law.
If i was you, i would think twice, you know what I mean? it sounds like walking into a bee's nest, unless you like walking into a hardball scenario between the workers and management. -
wish I lived around chicago, everyone makes good money over there! I hear the redi mix and garbage truck drivers make over 24~! -
I use to work for USF. It starts at 19.13hr but after 90 days you can go pay by performance which alot of drivers would make good money. Couple guys I knew were making 1100-1400 weekly off it as a new driver. Sysco has the same deal sort of, not 100% sure. They now have camera's in the truck just to let you know so watch out for it. USF is a smaller fleet Sysco is huge but we would hold our own. Both are good gig's just get used to getting up butt crack dawn early.

i deliver to both companies and like all food warehouses they suck. 3 stop load in atlanta on monday was 9 hours. then a drop and hook at the AVERITT terminal in lawrenceville good i am finally outta here b4 rush hour only to go back to Petro and change 3 trl tires
TY FELLOW TRANSAM DRIVERS FOR QUALITY PRE AND POST TRIPS -
not true, we have bid routes which get the same drivers everyday/week or whenever they get deliveries thats 90% of our customers then remaning 10% get float drivers. If a customer has a issue with telling a driver where the product goes itll get dropped in the middle of the kitchen. She sounds Biased USF works the same where some accounts get different drivers
