I'd love it if some of these scabs caught a maiming, maybe wages would go up. When management is afraid of a revolt, that wallet opens up a little wider.
skinnytrucker Thanks this. -
Maiming ? Noooo ...that's unacceptable and I draw the line there .already gone Thanks this.

And this is why trucking will never be "brotherly" again. You have guys crossing picket lines which is bad to some drivers, then you have guys wishing you get maimed, then there are drivers who wish you get shot over $30 an hour wages..... absolutely the sickest #### I've read in a while, happens right here on truckers report. Bravo drivers. Bravo!
xlsdraw, Opus, JReding and 1 other person Thank this. -
Leave ideology out of this please.
Thank you. -
Interesting points of view here, I'm currently in the middle of a contract dispute at my company. The CBA expires tomorrow, the union agreed to a week extension so we'll work until June 11. The Teamsters notified the company in January that the agreement would be expiring in June (of course the company already knew that) and would like to start negotiating ASAP. The company has used stall tactics and eventually presented it's final offer YESTERDAY. That final offer doesn't include a health insurance proposal, therefore the membership can't vote on it. Let me be clear, THE MEMBERSHIP OF LOCAL 30 WANTS TO WORK. Some of the comments on here are amazing, particularly from the folks that most likely have zero union experience.
As a side note, Local 30 DOES NOT ENDORSE VIOLENCE. EVER. Some of the administrative and management folks at my DC are considered personal friends of mine, naturally they will have to cross our picket lines if a strike comes to fruition. Our membership will let them pass peacefully and most likely will have friendly conversations with them.xlsdraw, E dunkedon Me, already gone and 4 others Thank this. -
You want to pine for the good old brotherly days, but twist the facts in your head to where you believe crossing a picket line is acceptable.skinnytrucker Thanks this.
-
Shooting someone over something that you WILL NOT take to the grave is acceptable though?
I don't want to pine for #### except a relaxing weekend ahead. I'm merely using info gathered from all over TTR. -
None of my business. If they feel they need to work, that's a decision they make.
BTW, I've always been amused by the fact that unions had to come up with a demeaning (supposedly) name for picket line crossers. Name-calling? Really? I expect better from my six year old...xlsdraw Thanks this.
