I drove for pfg out of oakwood and talked to a lot of us guys. They usually had 600 to 800 cases and made about what we did, gross around 60 to 70 a yea. Now im in Savannah with Sysco making about the same but workin 4 days instead of 5. They pay by stop case and miles. Not sure how us does it but pfg didnt pay for stops. Every little bit helps :) You will leave out early in the mornin round 4 - 5 and get back before 5. Dont get discouraged if it takes you a lot longer at first youll get a rhythm. Good luck and I hope this helps!

Yea, just don't get in a hurry to get hired on with these guys. They take their sweet time about following up with you or atleast they did in Houston.

If you run city you will be in a day cab, using a ramp and dolly to unload those 600-800 cases. Backing down alleys off of 2 & 4 lane roads, in and out of busy parking lots, and dealing with restaraunt managers who want you to stop at the door so they can count everything or they want to check the temps and will send stuff back if they see the boxes sweating regardless what the temp is inside the box - and don't forget about collecting money if you get out to one of those little mom and pop type places.

It's decent money but the work is no joke! Rain or shine, hot or cold your delivering. Some places are real picky about the delivery times to - if your late or show up around lunch time they will make you wait. Just some things to consider.

I work at mclane, and yes its hard physical work, but you are paid good, I wish that we ran single though, Once your 14 is up, you """go into the berth""" yeah right, your up helping unload and once homeboys time is up guess what.....you've been logged 10 hrs in the berth, you got your 14 back, time to drive home!!! So on a typical load your gone for 24 to 36 hrs with only 2-3 hrs of sleep!!! But the money is good!!! But how much can your body physicaly take at this pase?! Running single equals 14 hrs of work...hotel room for 10, then get up finsh up and head home, much more easy going.
